Welcome to the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia

Even when we were still in Germany, we checked out the tickets for the formula 1 race in Kuala Lumpur. It was during the first week of January when we remembered this intention. We tried to find out where we can buy these tickets and found a very nice agency in KL downtown. The guy at the agency informed us to have a look at sepangcircuit.com and if we were lucky, we would be able to buy some early bird tickets with a promotional price.
Guess what? – We managed to purchase the tickets with a discount of 50% to the normal price. If you want to go to the formula 1 race in Malaysia this is your first choice for tickets. checking out the website should be your first choice for tickets. The only problem we had from that day on was the time we had to wait but then the weekend came. It was Friday, 8th of April. We were all very excited and travelled early in the morning to the Sepang circuit looking forward to see our “guy from the neighborhood in germany” – Sebastian Vettel. By the way there is a bus shuttle from KL Sentral to the circuit which is very cheap and reliable.
The first thing after we arrived at the circuit was to check out our seat.
.

We were so lucky because in retrospect we would say that K1 – that’s where the seats were located – was the stand with the best view. We could have a look into the pit, we saw the starting lane and a few curves.

We found out that nearly every stand was open on this Friday so we decided to enjoy the first free training session from the main stand right in the opposite of the pit.

The sound, the power and the whole atmosphere were absolutely amazing and the main highlight of the first day was that we had some action whenone of the formula 1 engines burst.

On Saturday we had the pleasure to watch a very nerve-stretching qualifying as Sebastian went out in the last Minute of the qualifying. And yes he made it – Pole Position. We were very happy about that end of a great second day at the Sepang circuit.
The third day was the day of the race and we were all very excited about it. The first red light showed up….the second one….third…fourth….and finally the fifth red light showed up and what happened was indescribable. The race started and 24 formula 1 cars raced towards us. This was such an amazing spectacle.

In the end our Mr. Vettel was victorious and we showed our support for him right in front of the Red Bull merchandise stand

and our antipathy for his competitor.

We cannot estimate how many pictures the other visitors - mostly Asian origin - took of us in this situation.
Finally we can say that the weekend was absolutely amazing and that we will recommend anyone who is going to stay in Kuala Lumpur during the Formula 1 weekend to visit the race.
